Many emerging acts don’t have the funds, label backing, or connections to secure the studio time their peers have. They get scrappy — they think outside-the-box. But somehow, someway they usually find a way to make it happen.

In support of the then newly launched genre-less Spotify playlist Pollen — a genre-less playlist built to expose and support the best new art and emerging acts, we created a made-for-social series that took viewers inside the actual spaces where artists like Saba and the Pivot Gang, Omar Apollo, and Yaeji create. Told from their perspective, the format was designed to bring Spotify followers and listeners closer to their favorite new acts and foster a closer, more intimate sense of connection between the two.
